I watch and like the show. The new guy kinda gets on my nerves with his gungho attitude but I guess that's the training. Dave got let go for falsifying his military history. Pretty sad because I liked how the two got along.

No shit? I didn't know that was the reason he's gone. The new guy annoys me. He reminds me of Bear Grylls always trying to do unnecessary shit just because he can. Except this guy has a spoiled brat attitude. Makes the show a little more dramatic, but also more fake. Cody rocks. His feet are basically hooves, I would imagine. Not quite as insane as it first seems, but still nuts!

Survivorman is still my favorite. That guy is a badass, and seems to know fucking everything. When you stop and realize that the other guys have a camera crew around at all times, it really weakens the danger and desperation factor. I bet they even have plenty of clean water around.

I liked how pissed dave and cody would get at each other.

Less Stroud is a bad ass. Where I get the impression shows like Dual Survival and Man vs. Wild are staged, Stroud comes across as a complete bad ass. I read he stopped the first show because it was taking a toll on him and I can only imagine. What ever happened to his second show? Where instead of a week he goes off for 10 days?

Exactly. Couldn't remember the details of it but ya he had absolutely no background in survival is what I remember.

Hopefully it will come along, I know it took a while with Dave but this new guy Joe is trying to hard to be a bad ass. I watched the episode where he killed the rattle snake and he looks like he's trying to do some sort of kung fu move after slicing off the snakes head LOL!

Canterbury also falsely claimed to have 20 years of survival skills experience which was proven untrue by the surfacing of Canterbury's own 2008 bio in which he was a factory worker at an auto plant in Ohio the year before he signed to be on Dual Survival. This bio can be viewed on BushcraftUSA."
This is a statement Dave made publicly a few years ago on his Bushcraft USA bio profile, but then took it down once he was confronted with evidence that contradicted his claims:

"I was in the US Army from 1981-1988, and during this time I served in Central America, Grenada, Korea and the US, much of the time as an instructor for both US Troops and some allied forces in several specialty areas. I graduated from Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger, and Sniper Counter Sniper Schools while serving my country."

I went to POWnetwork.org and viewed Dave's military service records. From what I can tell, he was an MP in the Army for 6 years who was trained as a military police sniper and an SRT member, which is like an Army version of SWAT. There is no mention of Ranger, Survival, Scout, or Airborne Training.There is also no mention of service in Grenada or Central America, only in Korea, where his title was "ID Badge Clerk."

Obviously, the Discovery Channel and Cody figured this out last year and had to make a hard decision, or else risk losing the integrity of the show. This is really sad to hear. Dave did serve his country, but decided to embellish things which got him into trouble.

They should combine dual survival and preppers, just to see if those people can really survive harsh situations. It would be pretty damn entertaining.

I saw one episode. It was in the mountains/snow. Maybe Norway or Greenland, or something. Haven't seen another one since.

Maybe to clarify a little bit, I don't get the whole walking around barefoot thing. On the season opener that did a lot of background about the Joe and Cody and they featured Cody's house. I dig his green earth philosophy and how he lives off the grid in the Arizona desert. Just the barefoot thing I don't get. Hell I couldn't make it down my drive way barefoot. I respect that he can do that, I just don't understand why.

When they did the background on Joe I thought it was a little to over the top. When they went out to his house he blindfolded the production crew so they couldn't see where he lived

There was one other episode where he was on the Mexican Pacific Coast surviving off the beach and further inland for 10 days. Both episodes were awesome. Just wonder what happened to the show.

That's what I respected the most about him. I never saw Bear Grills (or however his name is spelled) rough it half as much as Les.

What got me a fan was his common sense approach. A lot of other shows, I often thought - NO WAY am I doing that! Les demonstrates things the average person can do.

I actually agree it would be fun to watch. Make them live as if they lost a good bit of their supplies...etc.

Although, it would be unfair since you would not be able to do somethings you'd do during a SHTF scenario. i.e. pop a rabbit in one of those neighborhoods. You'd get arrested for it during normal times - but would be common if people are hungry.

Survivorman started back up a few weeks ago with an interesting twist this season. He's been out survivoring and filming with his son and last weeks episode (with part 2 this week) is covering bigfoot LOL!

Dual Survival starts back up next week with Cody's final season. I heard on another forum (and someone confirmed that Cody posted it on Facebook I think) that he was fired from the show. WTF??!!
