I'm capable of turning off my sense of realism and enjoy a movie. I liked it. Even if it was goofy as shit in most parts.

I enjoyed it also, had pretty good action. Just bad acting, I knew before watching it not to expect much though.

I was expecting bad acting and a cheesy story line, and I still hated this movie. Some of the action scenes were cool, but not enough to make it worthwhile. It was really, really bad. I can't believe so many people enjoyed it.

Most people didn't enjoy the movie itself. They enjoyed the visual/audio. The movie itself is crap, but watching it with a good HT setup will blow your mind.

I've actually thought about ditching my POS Polk PSW505 and getting a SVS sub just for this movie.

Wish I could have a screen that big... 110" was as big as i could go in my living room. Still waiting for that SOB to get in.

There are plenty of movies with stunning visuals and sound. This one wasn't impressive enough to make it worth the time to watch it, much less a couple of bucks to rent it. I'd rather watch snails sleep.

I loved my 505 until I heard a SVS...

The 505 just makes booming noise and rattles windows. When it comes to sound quality it's junk. Mine only went down to 29hz.. I'm missing a whole range for 16hz-29hz.

I had lots of subs before I got my 505. When I got my 505 I didn't see a reason to spend $700+ on a sub-woofer.. Then I heard a $700 sub-woofer.

Some people think a 60" led tv is the best thing on earth. I look at the high end 80" ones and think "junk". It all depends on what you are happy with.

yea... i think this might be the first time i've completely agreed with jluv on a movie.

i didn't care how good it looked or sounded. i started with big sound and picture but less than halfway through i turned the sound way the hell down as i was sick of the movie and started fucking around on my phone.

I hear what you're saying, but that's akin to having a car that goes 205 mph and another car that goes 210 mph, and calling it a dramatic difference. As I type that I realize that there are car guys that feel exactly that way. I am kinda the same with some of my hobbies, so more power to you.

At any rate, there are people out there who would call the 210 mph car, or a $1000 sub "junk", too. Those people are annoying.

A comparison is more:

505 is a low 13 second car.

A Mid range SVS is a high 9 second car.

Then you have those top fuel ass holes.

it's somewhat necessary depending on your front speakers. since subwoofer port design yields a narrow operating range, going for deepest bass possible may leave you with a window around that 60-120 hz range (unless of course your front speakers are a good full range larger cabinet speaker)



IMO, the ultra LF extension subs for HT (svs, hsu) are nice for pure movie poundage but i really dislike them for music.

if im listening to music, i tend to run pure 2.0. only run 2.1 if i'm running a more musical sub at the time or if im trying to be a bassoholic.
