Captain America: The Winter Soldier

It looks like Marvel has found one of its villains for the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

A little while ago it was reported that Frank Grillo (“Warrior”) had tested for the role of Crossbones, a henchman for the Red Skull, but Collider has confirmed today that he got the part.

His character is quite the marksman, and is equally as deadly in hand-to-hand combat, so he should make for a formidable opponent against Chris Evan’s Captain America.

No word yet on the other bad guy bruiser that Josh Holloway (“Lost”) tested for, but if Grillo’s work in this year’s “The Grey” is any hint as to what is to come then we are all in for a real treat.

Sebastian Stan returns as Bucky, Anthony Mackie (“10 Years”) will play The Falcon, and the rest of the cast is filled out by Samuel L. Jackson (“Lakeview Terrace”), Cobie Smulders (“The Avengers”), Scarlett Johansson (“The Spirit”), and the yet to be cast female lead.

Glad to see Sam Jackson and Scarlett are going to be in it. Should be interesting, though CA was my least favorite of the Avengers cannon.

I thought the CA movie was better than the Thor movie. But that was my feelings for americana probably getting mixed in there. Whoever the chick was in CA I thought was pretty hot too.

His character is just sort of boring to me. Too straight laced, although it was a good counterpoint to Stark in The Avengers. I don't think he would be a guy I could have a beer with. lol

I liked him more before I realized the guy that was supposed to personify America and all its ideals was the result of comic book steroids, thanks to The Editing Room.

I loved the first one. I thought the style was great and they did a great job with the character. Of course he's not a guy you want to have a beer with. He's the ultimate straight laced boy scout. But it's a good fit for the time (WWII), and a good fish out of water story for when they thaw him out. The philosophical chasm between him and Stark makes for great stories down the road.
