  • For the pickers: Taylor Guitars Roadshow

If you play and haven't been to one of these, it's an absolute "must attend" event. They're putting these on around Dallas. It's free of charge. Wayne Johnson (guitarist for Manhattan Transfer/Bette Midler) was the pro that demonstrated the different guitar models. I played about a dozen different models (from $1200 to $8000) and had a blast. My wife might be a little less enthused, as I think I found my 3rd Taylor last night!

Uggh. Wish I would have heard about it sooner, i'm swamped all weekend. The arlington show last week was a huge bust. It was great to oogle all the 100K '59 les pauls, but not much else. I have never played any acoustic that I bonded with like a taylor. On the bright side, I'm expecting a Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul today!!!!

It's all about the neck, my brother. The cool thing about Taylors is that they all have the same neck. $800 210ce neck= $4000 910ce neck. Inlays, nut material, etc. may be different, but all the necks are the same.

I have a '71 Gibson Southern Jumbo my dad bought new, and it's my baby. It's probably more about the sentimental part than anything, because I have several others that sound/play just as good.

I got a chance to play the Eric Clapton Martin Sig and thought it was an amazing instrument, they put it back in the glass, and I grabbed a taylor off the wall for shits and giggles. It, in my opinion, absolutely destroyed the EC in every aspect. To this day, that's the guitar I regret not buying. The kicker of this story? It was the Jewel signature taylor, lol.

Also, this is an amazing time to be a guitar player, the level of quality to be found in lower priced guitars is incredible. I paid 500 bucks for the Bonamassa and just spent the last few hours playing it, after a good setup, i would put this against any modern non custom or reissue gibson out there.
