British version is WAY better. The hosts have natural chemistry and are true car guys. I love the way they talk constant shit to each other, but you can tell they all genuinely like one another. Like Blake said, some of the shit they say is fucking brutally hilarious just because of that off kilter British sense of humor, and ever so slightly different way they curse/insult. It is a true gem.

The American version.. I don't even want to talk about it.

It's getting better each episode it seems. At first it was absolutely terrible. The only reason I ever saw a second episode was all the talk on the board. Now, I find it just as entertaining as the british show, except the humor isn't quite as witty - obviously. However, if they could get the American humor straight, it would be better. Rutledge Wood is my favorite commentator, second to Tanner. Adam Ferrara is kind of an idiot, his humor is terrible, and he doesn't seem to know shit about anything - don't even know why he is there.

That episode was one of the best I've seen, though admittedly, I don't watch either one much. That shit was still hilarious though, nonetheless.

I've seen a couple of the American one, including the first one. The first one was pretty bad...the other one, they each picked three cars that American companies should start making again and one of the tests was to fill each of them with water to the brim and see how far they could drive before the water level reached the bottom of the steering wheel. It was entertaining to see a caprice station wagon with a 1,000+gallons of water in it chugging along a track. Still has nothing on the original. Those guys are hilarious. They act like bickering brothers more than co-hosts.

I watched part of the water one, could not make it through the entire show, never checked it out again.

okay i just realized that i didn't watch the first episode, i watched the 5th out of 7. if what everyone is saying is true(the first ones being really bad) then i am not even gonna waste my time on any more episodes.

sorry but maybe i just am hooked too much on the original. i mean they have 3 car guys that bicker and joke but it's funny. plus the british accents make it funnier IMHO

the US one has one car guy, one actor/comedian and one fat annoying nobody...

                    shits weak!

Should have hired Tim Allen, Christopher Titus, and Jay Leno. Then it might have been worth watching.

I think one beef I have is that they tried to legitimize the hosts. The fun part about the BTG guys is, they're not professionals in the car or racing world, they're fans. They got their start on, and still do a lot of, presenting other shows. They're journalists that happen to be in love with cars. That love translates to a very thoughtful, and sometimes transcendental show. I'll grant you I haven't seen it, but I'm turned off by the premise.

They tried to get Leno but he wouldn't do it because he thought the advertisers would force a biased report.

That's another big key - the British version has a way with words, the US version comes off scripted and uneducated.

The british show is the shit.

I have not and will not watch the American version. The comedy is just not the same. The more of the British ones i watch the more i start using some of the same words.

I like when Jeremy tells the chick in the audience to get naked. That shit would never fly here.

And that is a damn shame because he is probably right. The Brits trash talk about some of the most badass cars out there, and the honestly is what makes it entertaining and interesting. Even with their brutal honestly they almost always find something positive to say because you can tell they really LOVE cars. Hell, Hammond BOUGHT a new Challenger and shipped it over so they could test it because Dodge wouldn't let them test it due to being too "harsh" in their reviews. Candy asses. A good product shouldn't have to worry about a critique. It stands on its own.
