  • Red State by Kevin Smith

I put off watching this movie for a long time because it looked like standard horror movie fare, which is probably at the very bottom of the list of movies I am normally interested in watching. However, half way through this turns into something completely different, and the previews don't quite do it justice. If you're a Kevin Smith fan(Clerks, Mall Rats, etc), you should probably check it out. Reminds me of early Coen Brothers movies like Blood Simple. I was pleasantly surprised. This movie has more gunfire than every Stallone and Schwarzenegger movie ever made combined.

His stand up about the movie is on Netflix too, he goes into detail about his dealings with Westboro BC. Worth a watch.

Yeah, the entire "interview" at the end and the last line made me fucking laugh. Definitely not your run of the mill movie.

A completely enjoyable movie, in the most unsatisfying way.

I would like to see numbers for dvd sales; his movies tend to have cult followings.
