I'm DVRing all three parts so I can watch without commercials later in the week, but did anyone watch last night? How was it?

I fell asleep during the last ten minutes or so, so I've got to catch up on that today. I thought it was pretty well done, though. It followed the facts pretty well, though there were a few small discrepancies. I'll leave it at that since you haven't watched it yet.

It was good, keeps with the actual story line.

I enjoyed it. I also think it's pretty close to history. I had a college history instructor that was really into the Civil War, and his interests' ran over into the Hatfield/McCoy feud (along with other related things). The first show covered 17 years (1863-1880) pretty quickly.

Yeah, they covered an awful lot in the first episode. Makes me wonder how they are going to squeeze another 4 hours out of it. I hope they don't fluff the rest of it too terribly bad.

I don't know much of the history but it was an interesting show so far. I will say though, those MF's don't play, they were shooting people left and right, LOL.

It was pretty brutal, especially around the Civil War era. Lots of executions of soldiers AND civilians. They would just burn down entire towns, especially if they felt like they harbored the enemy.

Its pretty good, I really don't see why they have to spend time talking about the civil war, this isnt about the CW it is about the fueding families. They are keeping with the true history if you ask me.

Because the Civil War played a big role in the reason the families are fighting each other. Who said they need to spend more time talking about the war anyways?

Someone else mentioned how they ran through the early years (12) they talked about it and they are concentrating on the actual family struggles with each other. That imo should be what the show is about. You want a history lesson, they go rent a film about the civil war, bitch!

They need to spend the whole show talking about the civil war.
