Sin City 2 starts filming this summer

The role of Ava Lord was written with Angelina Jolie in mind with Salma Hayek, Rose McGowan, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Helena Bonham Carter, Sofía Vergara, Elizabeth Banks and Kate Beckinsale as back up choices.

Two of the film's three segments are based on Sin City comics: "A Dame to Kill For", which ran six issues, and "Just Another Saturday Night", which ran for one. Both comics feature Marv (Mickey Rourke) in a lead role.

Two of the film's three segments - "A Dame to Kill For" and "Just Another Saturday Night" - are prequels to the first film.

I wonder how they film a movie like this, all that CGI and shit, crazy amount of work I bet. And the acting has to be weird too, what are they doing, standing in front of a green screen all day moving around and shit, while talking???

It was kind of... flat. Relied too much on the jokes of the original, and you could really tell with several of the actors that 9 years had passed since the first by the aging of their faces. Eva Green was drop dead stunning and fully nude in several scenes. I had a difficult time figuring out where in the time line these stories fit in, and having several different characters replaced with new actors/actresses didn't help. I watched the original yesterday for a refresher, too. It wasn't a bad movie, but it was definitely small in the shadow of the original, and it didn't bring anything new to the table. The Tucker was awesome.
