  • Anchorman sequel

    Is on the way.

    Special bulletin!

Eight years later, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is getting a sequel.

The 2004 comedy's star Will Ferrell made the announcement himself on Wednesday's episode of Conan, appearing in character as the mustachioed Ron Burgundy himself.

"To everyone here in the Americas. To our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK including England," Ferrell-as-Burgundy addressed the crowd, "as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself . . . have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman." He also regaled the Conan crowd with a flute solo.

Directed by Ferrell's creative partner Adam McKay and produced by Judd Apatow, the beloved film -- about a hard-drinking, doltish, sexist newsman -- costarred Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate.

It was fucking excellent, just so you know. Don't forget to stay for the scene after the credits.

Coming from someone that can quote the first one all the way through, it was decent, and had some really funny moments... but it just felt like they were trying way too hard through a lot of it. The scenes with Brick and Kristen Wigg's character together weren't funny at all, to the point of being annoying IMO...

The fight scene was pretty epic, and there were a few memorable lines, but you can't capture lightening twice I suppose...

The cameos were pretty good and unexpected but it definitely wasn't a T2 quality sequel.

The fight scene was the best part if you ask me...I was kinda wondering where it was by the time it came around. Some big suprises in the group too, faces I did not expect to see.
