DL'd a pretty crappy quality, but watchable copy of this movie last night. It's kinda hard to review because I thought the first movie was great, but the second movie sucked balls. I don't know if it was the difference in my age, or if "Prince Caspian" indeed sucked. Other people seem to agree with me that it really sucked. While I know that the writer of the novels C.S. Lewis used a lot of biblical references in the stories, it seems that they're a lot more pushed in the second than the first. Just blatantly thrown out there and not executed very well. The third still has this, but it's all at the end. There are some more subtle references throughout the movie, but nothing that disturbs the flow like "Prince Caspian" had. The character "Usetess"(sp?) is annoying as fuck. His voice gives me nightmares, but it seems he'll be a future character in the Narnia series. I never read the books so I came to this conclusion from the movie.

While not a great movie, nowhere near as good as the first, it's a lot better than the second one, and it's not excruciatingly long like Prince Caspian.

I thought the first one was the most blatant with the biblical references. Both were decent, though. Sure beats the BBC's older versions. YUCK!

Really? Even with the giant Jesus made of water?...and the "You have to want to see him." in regards to Azlan. I'd probably have to watch it again since it's been a couple years, but the only main thing I remember from the first one is Azlan sacrificing himself, and of course coming back to life to kick ass and not just roar and cast Water 3 on the humans.

There was a blatant Jesus figure, but the biblical reference in the story was more centered on the Gospel in the first one.

As long as it flows well, they can put as many biblical references they want. They don't bother me regardless of my personal beliefs as long as it doesn't disrupt the rhythm or seem forced. Hell, I love "The Ten Commandments" but when they make a giant Jesus water thingy...it just seemed very forced. I don't know if the book describes a giant water Jesus. Don't get me wrong, it's extremely blatant at the end of the third one, but up until then, the movie was good enough for it to not bother me.

I felt the same way about trying to push a Jesus image in there.
