Oh, and I finally got around to seeing The Ladykillers awhile back. I thought it was pretty decent, no where near their worst effort(A Serious Man).

I liked the Ladykillers a LOT. Tons of dry, salty comedy with a fresh dash of Marlon Wayans.

Yeah, I was glad I saw it. You Coen Bros fans need to check out Nebraska. Even though they didn't have anything to do with it, it reminds me of them when they are firing on all cylinders. Just a great movie all around in so many subtle regards.

That's the one with Tom Hanks in it right? I enjoyed that movie and caught it on cable a couple or so months back.

                    you have to call it.
"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

Yeah, I do say. Raising Arizona was super serious, so I can see why his comedic acting made it difficult to take him seriously after seeing it.

Then you completely understand how playing a dumb hillbilly so well can get you typecast especially after starring in crap movies after the fact.

Good point. He was pretty much typecast as a dumb hillbilly in every movie that followed.

Remember "Leaving Las Vegas"? That one was a definite laugh riot. It's almost like they transplanted his H.I. character straight into the film. Oddly enough, the movie received little acclaim from viewers or critics.

There were a handful of movies that were tolerable, but ultimately there was too much dumb hillbilly and overacting in most of the characters he'd portray to make it believable. Just like Canoe "I am an EFF BEE EYE AGENT" Reaves. Sorry this hurts your feelings. I understand the leaf doesn't fall far from the tree/birds of a feather and all that sort of rubbish.

on a serious note, he does over-act most of the time... There are only a few of his movies that I like.
