The HBO film "The Tuskegee Airmen" was a far better telling of the same story with better actors.

33%/73% on rotten tomatoes. Only made $18 million on opening weekend.

Sounds like a big old stinky turd to me. Then again, I'm not surprised at all at George Lucas thinking he could just shit out another weak scripted pile of hot steamy dung for everyone to eat up. Maybe this was really the 7th Star Wars movie in disguise? pew pew pew! He should have put in JarJar Binks as a Nazi pilot or Hitler himself. Someone should have told him to just go to a meeting of the Tuskegee Airmen and throw his own shit at them instead. At least it would save people the $8 or whatever it cost to watch this abortion in a film can.

The studios knew it too, they said no to him. There is a New York Times article about it and it mentions he is going to retire.

Bullshit. Even when he dies, he'll still be recutting the cantina scene. His zombie corpse will never leave the editing room.

The film did nothing to gain a true appreciation of the obstacles the airmen faced from the perspective of race, combat soldiers, or heroes.

This film can't stand in the same line as Glory, Men of Honor, or Wind Talkers concerning race and heroes. Nor stand next to They Were Soldiers, Saving Private Ryan, Memphis Bell or Flag Of Our Fathers for soldiers at war.

This movie was Star Wars meets WWII with an elementary school target audiences. Damn near a PG movie.

                The movie sucks.
I agree it doesn't live up to those movies you listed but I don't think this movie sucked that bad. Plus those P-41's were new planes they received. They started out with hand me downs. But all in all I thought it was a good movie. But then again I saw it at the cinema suites and I took in my own crown. So I got a little drunk watching the movie.

Supposedly he is going to do smaller films that will show in art houses and shit. I'll believe it when I see it. Fucking Star Wars #7 is definitely on the way, this guy has no shame and I think he surrounds himself with yes men that tell him how good this stuff is.

Fuck they might be 51's. Like I said I was a little drunk and don't know too much about planes. I thought they said 41's but I could be wrong.

Makes me wonder what happened to the greatness that came up with "American Graffiti" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

Obviously Harrison Ford was the source of all that greatness.
