James Bond Skyfall

it was the first movie ive actually watched with the new guy as bond. I liked it.

Gave it a second chance, and I have to say that I think it was much better than I originally gave it credit for. Definitely the best cinematography of any Bond movie. It does have a lot less action. I think part of my problem may have been the length. This sucker is 2 hours and 20 minutes long, which is a little long for an action movie. And the main villain didn't show up until over an HOUR had passed. I enjoyed it a lot more the second time, without having expectations.

Less action is fine, to be honest. Connery's Bond was far more actual plot with action mixed in, as opposed to Brosnan's Bond and the initial installments of Craig's Bond (Craig's gets a pass as it's a part of the story they're trying to tell).

My issue is the way they're shooting the sequences now, which is the same way that all Hollywood action sequences are being filmed: put Michael J. Fox behind every camera, do as many jump cuts as you can, and make it difficult for anyone to see what's actually going on so it looks really intense. It was interesting when it was first done in the Bourne Identity 10 years ago, but now it's really worn the fuck out, uninteresting, uninspired, and unoriginal. I'd like to see what's going on in an action sequence again, please.

Still a really good film, has me excited for the next installment.

I too think Craig makes a great bond. Jason as a bond? Naaaa . He shoulda played agent 47 in hit man tho. Clive Owen as bond? Another Naaaa. I likem but not as bond

I thought for sure Clive Owen was going to be Bond after "The Hire" series he did. Those were great.
