Casino Royale was one of the best bond movies ever. And I sat and watched all the bond movies a few years ago, so I was pretty versed when I made the bold claim. Quantum was crap, I don't even remember much of the plot, and I left the theater disappointed.
agreement.
the plot wasn't horrible in QoS but the fuck-ton quantity of action scenes, AKA: lets change camera angles 2x per second to trick up two men in suits having a fist fight so the audience vomits... that made the movie garbage.
the original casino royale was absolutely terrible if any of you have bothered to see it.
I liked the new one, but my heart for favorite bond movie has got to be Dr. No or GoldenEye.
The original CR was a sort of spoof that wasn't done by the same production company. Basically, someone got the rights to it before the other movies took off, then made it independently, after their success as far as I remember. It isn't considered part of the "cannon."

Learned something new. Sweet!
Right. Its a wierd....spoof thats not a spoof, that is just completely out of place.

Agreed. That shit drives me nuts. It's an artificial replacement for legitimate "action", and they're doing the same thing with car chases these days. Not only does it suck from a cinematic perspective, it's also nauseating.

I completely agree, I've been addicted to James Bond movies ever since my dad bought the collectors set on VHS with all the old ones back when I was a kid and I sat and watched all of them.
If the IMAX in lubbock is finished by November I will probably make a trip up there just to see this movie.
