wtf is up with Lil B? i have heard about him but never heard any of his shit. i saw a thread about him on another board where people where basically saying how fucking awesome he is and all kinds of bullshit. i decided to listen to some of his stuff to see what all the fuss is about and holy shit... it's all fucking garbage! ...but people seem to think he is a hip hop god of some sort, even saying shit like he is "base god" or whatever

i downloaded the lil wayne sorry 4 the wait mixtape(which was not that great IMO) and on one of the good tracks this dummy lil b starts rambling on and fucks it all up. i mean he looks like a black gang banger crossed with a hipster. he is apparently from oakland... which from what i thought was filled with a bunch of og's like too short who stomp on mourk ass tricks like lil b on a daily basis... but as of recently it seems like it's putting out hipster hop from people like kreayshawn and lil b

i honestly listened to his stuff with an open/neutral mindset but damn, it's fucking stupid

anyone else unfortunately heard about this garbage?

Anything past 98 with a few exceptions is junk. Just because you're black, doesn't automatically make you a rapper.

Hip-hop supernova'd when Tribe called it quits. There have been some lingering glimmers of what once was (Madlib, PUTS, Dilla, Pete Rock, DOOM, J5 and a very small collective have kicked/are still kicking it here and there), but the entire scene has collapsed into a black hole that's sucking every piece of garbage in existence into it. Plenty of shitty hip-hop was made during Tribe's reign, but very little good hip-hop has proliferated in their wake.

Aesop Rock, El-P, and the DefJux crew, but yeah. Tribe was really the last true great ones. Have you seen that documentary about them yet? It showed here in Dallas back in August, but i never caught it.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?
