Yale, we all remember the barn scene with Appolonia. Oh to be a single straw on the ground of the barn that day.Last edited by mstng86; 09-06-2011, 07:02 AM.

Just a different time. IMO.

Ledger and Nicholson both did good jobs portraying the Joker....like someone mentioned earlier, it was 1989 and it was a different time so trying to compare the two actors portrayal of the Joker is really unproductive.
overall I like Ledger's version of the Joker...I like the darker more maniacal persona. I liked Nicholsons version, but for myself Ole Jack did not make me feel "scared" at what he might do next, he seemed to make it a bit more comical than Ledger did.sigpic

The amount of A listers in this movie that I didn't yet know when I was a kid is staggering. Tim Burton was perfect for directing one of the darker super heros, also. I wouldn't say Nicholsons take on The Joker was better than Ledgers in the new series, but he plays to his crazy strengths. This movie is awesome, and fun, something the newer ones seem to lack, imo.Don't Mess With Texas.

Where Nicholson went over the top, Keaton went subtle, but you could still see the huge range of his duality pulling at him, without much irony or camera winking. I just picked this up on Bluray and think I like it much more now than I did as a kid, mostly due to being able to appriciate the cast and what each of them brings to the table. Basinger still screams too fucking much, though.
Another Keaton movie that i appriciate more now than when i was a kid, Beatlejuice. You don't realize how "adult" that movie is until you see it later on.
