Good list. One of my all time favorites was the "Deer Hunter". About 1978. Great all star cast. Another of my favorites is "The Great Escape". McQueen is the MAN.

Not too bad of a list. Hamburger Hill would go great there.

That's a good list. Band of Brothers is my all time favorite. I have the DVD set and have watched them all many times. Saving Private Ryan, Flyboys, Saints & Soldiers, Windtalkers, Platoon, The Thin Red Line, & The Pacific are all good war movies. Inglorious Basterds looked great on the movie trailer but didn't live up to its billing imo.

You listed a lot of great movies and it's hard to rank them. Although, I'd probably remove your number 10 and put Tora Tora Tora somewhere in the top 10.

If I had to chose a #1, it would probably be Band of Brothers - mainly because of their interviews with the real people putting it over the top for me.

It'll take a while for it to get on a "greatest" list, but I'm sure Hurt Locker will be up there someday as well. Shit looked real to me, but what do I know?

A lot of good additions in there. Some of which I'm ashamed to have forgotten.

Nah... that list, just like any other, should be a living document, making additions and subtractions as you go.
