  • Good music

I freely admit, I'm a blues newb, but this song is AWESOME. It just came across my Pandora music stream.

I really like that, and I can't say I'm a huge "blues" fan either.

What is it? Can't see at work. Joe Bonamassa is a modern blues master. One of the best blues guitarists I've ever heard, if not the very best, and one of the best guitar players ever to have played. His Royal Albert Hall concert should be in everyone's DVD collection. Check him out if you haven't listened to him before.

I'm not a purist or any of that stuff but these are some more blues artists I like.

                Here's a new album I really digging

Some live work from the recent tour- this band is tight. The song is a little mellow but Derek's slide work about 3:50 in, is just so nice

And now for jamming- the tone in this is freaking amazing. Vocals are screwed up but that slide work is incredible!

I like Derek Trucks, but cannot get into Mike Mattison whatsoever. Haven't checked out his collaboration with Susan Tedeschi yet, but I'm not really a fan of her either lol

Based on the videos posted and the one following, I agree with this statement. Derek kills the guitar, Mike's voice reminds me of Bruce Springsteen, forced, and Susan's voice just doesn't fit for some reason or another, I can't put my finger on it. Good music, but not something I'd whip out for someone to get their first taste of blues on. For that, personally I'd choose Robert Cray's Time Makes Two (It just so happens to be the song that got me interested in it as well)

Racr, that Ronnie Earl song you posted is rocking! Understated, yet full of energy.

I'm a fan of Susan Tedeshi but the songs here she is in don't speak to me. Keb Mo talks to me tonight.

this band hits Dallas several times per year...or did a couple of years ago. A great band to listen to one evening.

....and you can never go wrong with classic Etta James recorded live in 1963

...another one that is speaking to me tonight

Still can't believe how good and versatile these guys are.

                          I finally found it.

I had been looking for this video for the past couple days, this is the one that got me started on this path to the blues. I'm not sure if I stumbled across it one day, or it was posted on the boards here. Regardless, listen, and be blown away.

                              enjoyed the Keb-Mo- great stuff

                              More Tedeschi Trucks
1st one from last year when they were just kicking around the idea and joined both her band and Dereks on some tour.

2nd one is from the new Album Revelator- which is outstanding. This band is hand picked best of the best musicians with no ego's getting in the way to make some great music IMO.

I think she is an outstanding singer and compliments Derek so well. Hell the whole band just works.
