  • Sony LCD owners in here

Lately I have notice a green haze on my 50" LCD t.v. I thought the color needed to be adjusted, but no luck. so I search the interwebs to see if this was a larger problem that just my t.v. well it seems i am not the only one having these issues. it ranges from red , green, & yellow hazing on certain sony lcd t.v. s and there was a class action lawsuit over this issue . long story short I contacted sony about this problem and they offered me a new 46" lcd for free or A 55" lcd ( $ 1500.00 value ) for $200.00 plus tax. if you are having the same problem the number to call is 1-800-282-2848 . maybe this can help others out. also a link to the class action lawsuit http://sites.google.com/site/sonylcd...ction-lawsuits

    Welcome to 4+ years ago....

Sorry for the sarcasm but that is an old, well documented problem with those units. We haven't processed one in over a year.

I work for a Sony authorized service center - we were swapping optical blocks at a rate of 8-10 per week for a while. At a cost of ~$800 per unit. After a year or two of swapping them out left and right, Sony started offering a pro-rated upgrade.
