    Genesis.

Gabriel era, I would have to say since my favorite album of their's is Nursery Cryme. Wind & Wuthering, was released after Gabriel had left the band though and it is my second favorite album of theirs. Anything they released after Steve Hackett left the band though was just not up to snuff. They hit their low with Invisible Touch.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

      Trick question.

I dig Genesis (Phil and Peter era), Phil solo and Peter solo. I'm glad each had their own time. If they never went and did their own thing, we would have probably never heard all the geniusness that came from each of the options.

Truism. Of course Collins was a lot more prolific than Gabriel, post Genesis.

As far as mass acceptance, yes; artistic talent, very debatable.

            Unfortunately, sales=talent. I like either.

So, Brittney and Gaga have more talent than almost everyone?

How can I just let you walk away, just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you, ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all

How can you just walk away from me,
when all I can do is watch you leave
Cos we've shared the laughter and the pain and even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now, cos there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me,
just the memory of your face
Just take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds and that's what I've got to face.

I wish I could just make you turn around,
turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you,
                so many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me, just the memory of your face
Just take a look at me now, cos there's just an empty space

But to wait for you, is all I can do and that's what I've got to face
Just take a look at me now, cos I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against all odds
                It's a chance I've got to take.

Just take a look at me now.

                god bless.

I didn't say "talent". I said "prolific". To record producers and execs, yes, Brittney and Gaga have more "talent". To me, no.

I hated that song from the first time I heard it.

I think that Nursery Cryme is undeniably their best work; Gabriel was fully at the helm and Collins' drumming was solid.

That said, I've got a soft spot for Duke. Maybe it's a result of hearing that album a ton when I was pretty young, but I also think it represents the best prog/pop balance of anything the band did.

Sales does not equal talent. Phil Collins was just more marketable by comparison. To be fair, though, they both hit their respective peaks in different genres and at different times. They're an apples to oranges comparison, and they happened to have good artistic chemistry for a while. I like them both, too, though.
