Anyone try Rift yet?

Just curious if anyone has tried Rift yet. I'd like to hear some first hand stories, i have heard that a lot of wow players have jumped ship and are now playing right. I know six personally who have.

i played rift for a week, leveled high enough to realize it is EXACTLY like wow and I left WoW because i was tired of starting over.

the rift events are fun, pvp is not, instances are not.

Everything I have read online said that it is a carbon copy of WoW, with the exception of the spontaneous Rift events.

I quit WoW because it was the same ol' shit with this expansion, not a damn thing really new, just a different wrapper.

Glad you feel the same, I finally quit mmo's myself.

They are all the fucking same. Wish I could get back into EQ but can't.

I play rift. It's is very similar to WoW, and I agree with the others, the rift events are fun. Especially if you manage to make a raid worth of people fighting at a rift, things get hectic quick. Other than that it's your run of the mill MMO. The graphics are pretty nice though.

It's basically vanilla WoW with public quests from Warhammer (the rifts) and battlegrounds similar to Warhammer as well. Contrary to what I hear a lot of people say, it's not anything revolutionary in my opinion.

anything nice and unique about rift , blizzard will just encorporate into the latest big WoW patch.

They did the same thing with Age of Conan and Warhammer Online, why not Rift?

I've been playing Rift since beta

It's fun. I never played WoW so I dunno how it compares, WoW was too cartoony and kiddy for me. I played Everquest long ago.

I have a lvl 50 guardian on tearfall, and an alt at 18 or so. I goof around on there, but i'm not serious, and neither are the people i play with.

I started playing a few days ago and enjoy it. I loved wow but got bored after maxin out and the same instances got old. This one is fresh take and the graphics are leaps and bounds better. The class choices are amazing. Mage Cleric Warrior and Rogue, but there is several "souls" or sub classes to further specialize in. For instance, Im a Mage with Warlock, Necromancer, and Choloromancer as my souls. Lock is alot like WOW's lock with the DoT's (damage over time) and siphon life spells. Necromancer adds the ability to use a skeleton or offensive pet and self heals. Cholor is a mage specific self healing class I guess. I have my talent point in Warlock and Necro, with none in Cholor. So far its doing well. Im on Alsbeth, Howitzur, mathosian mage.

I haven't tried it. Don't think I will either. I stopped playing Wow a while back, I was just sick of the same old shit over and over. I may try that new Star Wars MMO whenever it comes out.

I do play Eve Online on a limited basis. I like it because it isn't as much of a time sink.

The Star Wars MMO looks pretty good. Sometime in December there's a Marvel MMO that's coming out as well. Haven't seen any trailers or footage on it though.
