"ultrawide" monitors and graphics cards...

I'm tired of split displays and want one wide-ass screen to work on, just to do work. No gaming. The only video I'll do on it would be some streaming or youtube.

My work laptop currenlty has an "Intel HD Graphics 520." How the fuck do I find out what monitors that will support (via HDMI, not displayport) before buying one?

That states the supported resolution of teh chipset, sometimes vendors don't "enable" all of them. Check the Intel Graphics Control Panel(something er other like that). https://www.intel.com/content/www/us.../graphics.html

It will tell you max and mins for res and refresh. It *might* be possible that there's a driver update that enables slightly better options, but it's night highly probable.
