Upgraded the Crucial SATA SSD to a WD Blue M.2 NVMe SSD in my "budget" Acer Aspire Notebook. Also, swapped out the mediocre OEM single stick Ram to a G.Skill Dual Channel (2x8GB) Kit. Picked up a few additional FPS on video applications as well as smoother performance.
The disk upgrade was worth the money IMO. Not just because of the 2.5-3x increase in Seq. read/write performance, but primarily 4K read performance. This is where it becomes truly noticeable in opening files and launching programs on the desktop. This Acer Ironman mobo only supports 2 lanes PCIe, so it's limited.
