  • Networking newb here...

I have a wireless router provided by my ISP and it does a fine job but my problem is, it's on the other side of the room from my desktop. I have the pc hooked up w/ cat5 but I need more connections in that same location for other pc's. I don't want to run another long cable across the room either. Can I get this and hook it up to my existing cable then run multiple cables off it for other pc's or will that mess up the whole IP adress thing?

    TIA,
    Tx

but might as well go gigabit since its so cheap
guess the price jumped, I bought like 5 of these but they were only 15 bucks at the time.

Thanks! I'd go gigabit but have no need for it right now. I can't go any faster than my router.

but when you have your file server and your computer on the same gigabit switch, youll notice a big ass difference.
