uninterruptable USB battery

I have a raspberry pi that i want to put in the garage for motion detection and other items, however powering the unit is a concern. I've had this problem in the past, I'll do my best to explain the issue.

If you plug the pi up to a usb battery, and the battery up to an outlet, whenever you disconnect the battery from the outlet, there is a momentary switch in the battery to go from charging the battery to powering the pi. This switch causes the battery to momentarily stop sending power the pi and causes the pi to reboot.

I would like to find a usb battery that does not interrupt power to the unit if its power is cut ( aka always powering the pi off batttery ), but am having difficulty trying to figure out what to search for.

The Battery this guy used didnt seem to cut off the Pi.

For the price you would send on a USB brick, it might be a better value to buy a traditional 110v UPS. Also IDK your whole design, but doing something like POE to power the Pi and having a UPS on the POE switch sounds like a good idea as well. That is if your Pi will have a copper network connection...

That what I was afraid of, USB batteries are quite expensive. This might not be a bad idea as I have a Camera out there too and I do have a spare UPS, that is if it still works.

The Pi I am using is a first generation and isn't capable of doing PoE, well it is but you have to cut and splice it and do it manually which is ghetto.

Don't search for POE raspberry pi splitter, search for POE to 5v usb splitter.

hah, thats how they get ya.

I'm going to use my CyberPower 425va, need to replace the battery in it first though.

I can't use PoE because I dont have copper going to the garage ( I live in a townhouse/apartment ).
