  • Samsung Gear S2 - All things good and bad

So, I got one for my birthday/Christmas. Sobfar, I'm pretty happy with it. Time will tell. (Minor pun intended. )
Anyone else have one? If so, preferred watch face?

Did you get the sport or classic? I've been thinking of getting one of these too. So far what do you like/dislike about it?

How's the battery? How well does the speaker work on the phone with phone calls?

I got the sport model. I like it, a lot. The battery holds up for about a day with normal use. I've killed it in 4 hours with constant use. (Display always on, lots of unrealistic playing.)
The thing I like best is the subtlety of checking email and texts while at work. Most of which I don't care about. So, the constant phone checking is a pain and rude in meetings. However, "checking the time"? Still rude, but not as obvious.
Being able to change the watch faces is much cooler than I had envisioned but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for the uber-cool ones.
I listen to music all day at work via blue tooth and find it quite easy to change channels via the watch. Again, no bothering with the phone.
Our company has exercise incentives so the reminder to get up and move during the day, along with tracking said movement, and uploading these metrics to the "mother ship" is a nice surprise that I think I'll use daily. Pedometer, distance tracker, etc.

Over all, I'm QUITE happy with the watch. Like most Gen 1 devices, I expect gen 2, and so on, to be much better. I just hope I don't have a wearable brick in a year.

How's the speaker when making calls? is it loud enough to have a conversation outside or in a car?

My wife wanted to get me one of these for Christmas but after I looked into them, I didn't see a use for me personally. It seems like it's main use is to stealth text and screw around at work without being busted on your phone. I don't have time for that bullshit.

I didn't opt for the phone as I couldn't justify 3 cell numbers.

I thought it connects to your cell phone? Why would the watch have its own number?

that's where I stopped, if he didn't know the phone paired with the watch, his opinion on anything is pointless.

Not as obvious as checking your phone in meetings? I guess if you can read a text or email in a second, otherwise they might just think you're retarded instead of rude and can't tell time. Also, I have to lol at excercise incentives
