Which video card should I get

Asus strix 970 gtx for 260 or a Asus 980 gtx for 320.

Coming off a 6850 ati so either one is almost 4x better.

Games nothing major StarCraft once in a while and city skylines.

Just wondering if the 980 is with the extra 60 dollars.

GTX 980's suck man. Some dude sold me a busted ass 980 a few months back. PC has ran like shit ever since. I had a 970 before it. Should have kept that video card.

Starcraft barely uses the graphics card, it's CPU limited. I jumped 40FPS by going from an FX6300 to an I5 4670K.

im in a i5 2500k and with the new patch that went live this morning the game is unplayable in low settings

It aint just you, everyone I played with was getting crap performance, everyone on the forums are griping about it as well. The patch broke the game.

I am running an I5 4670K, GTX770 4gb, and 8gb of ram, I used to run on ultra and never dipped below 50FPS, now I am on high and frequently saw drops into the single digits.

Get the 970. No question. Isn't the 980 just a 970 with a couple of... whatever they were, unlocked? The 980 was like 13% more performance than a 970 at launch, and they wanted another $200 for it. What a joke.

The 980ti is what the 980 should have been.
