Think about it this way... with automation, companies moving to public cloud models, etc... what's going to be available for "IT" jobs at said companies in the next 10-20 years? Security... it's paramount at least in my mind, but be prepared for a mother fucking headache of a job. They will task you with the impossible, set YOUR boundaries in opposition, then wonder why they got breached.
