Does anyone have a printer or know of a place in dallas that can fab small things for me? For Example I'm trying to do an EVGA led back plate inside my PC case that is lit under my motherboard. Smallest would be L= .5in W= 10in = height 3.2 in

Or is it prudent to just buy one for 350 or 500? I have no idea how to use them.

Partsnap in dallas is decent. Shapeways is decent.

Prices for that service will probably run about the same as the cheap printers but the parts will be higher quality. If you dont know how to use it dont buy one.

3d printing is still waaaaayyy too expensive for most parts, and especially for large stuff. I still prefer to cnc and its cheaper for a lot of things.

Also...if you dont have a 3d model of the part they will charge for that service too.

Is it really as simple as those dimensions?

Send a sketch with dimensions and ill let you know more about what i think on cost and if i can make a solid model quickly.

Hmm I will look into CNC as well too. It just seemed that CNC would be more complicated or expensive. Thx!

Fairly simple besides the lettering, I think?. This would be the smallest piece I would need.

Honestly it doesn't need to be .5 inch thick. It can be a few centimeters as long is its solid.

I just checked my last qoute from shapeways and the price breakdown is as follows:

                    1.50 per part
                    0.28 per cm3 material
                    0.21 per cm3 machine

                    Your part is 262

So thats $130 for your part without design service. Some materials will be more and some less.

I was hoping for 20 maybe 60 bucks. I guess nothing is simple now days lol. Thanks, I had no idea it was so expensive!
It might be more prudent to just cut my own small plastic and stencil the logo and dremel it super carefully out..

If you do .25" thick, you could machine the logo out of king color core and get badass contrast. Ive been working with that stuff lately and its neat.

The coasters in the link below are .25" color core with race track outlines machined into them.

I'm looking at the king core site. That is perfect! How would I machine the logo?
