I have never had a issue with it crashing. Maybe some of the links they have.

I think so, plus sometimes their servers seem to get bogged down.

Gasser, I have never used tapatalk for anything so that wasn't it. Not sure the real cause, just know the app is awesome compared to the site in my experience.
