I did some work when I was laid off last year. I charged them 1.25x what I'd earn an hour doing my normal work. I was advised that 1.25-1.5x is the norm.
    *edit - Not IT work.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

125+ an hour if they want to have a lot of meetings on top of the ATs, you to be fully insured and all that other shit.
Do you mean working on networking and systems technologies, OR network devices from Netgear, dlink, Sonicwall, and cisco?

I charge $250 an hour with a guaranteed work rate of 20 hours every month. If people argue and fight for your to lower your pay, you dont want to do the work because they will expect $250 worth of work out of you for $40 an hour, unless of course you need the money or experience.

Contracting is different than consulting. I would charge no less than $100 an hour.
