  • Consulting work $?

I was offered to do some consulting work for a church. I've never done consulting, so I was curious what are the price ranges you typically see. Is there an hourly rate, or should I do it by a per project basis? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have my CCNA, and have learned a lot system side after working for a school district.

I bill 60-75 an hour on private projects and 100+ an hour on government projects. Any projects over 25 million, we discuss project-specific pay. This is for Environmental, Safety and Health... and some QA/QC, to an extent.

Seems like hourly would be the only way to go.

IT related? I was thinking $50, since I'm green to this.

That specific work, I'd say no more than 50 an hour.

75-125 an hour with multiple technologies/advanced technologies

125+ an hour if they want to have a lot of meetings on top of the ATs, you to be fully insured and all that other shit.

Oh ya, if you do anything as an independent contractor, get an LLC.

$300 an hour is the fee my boss charges for my services..... I'm pretty sure the independent consultants get that or more.
