Stay away from Linux if you're gaming. Also you'll find shit tons of windows support online, compared to that the linux support is kind of thin. Tried it out on another machine for a year, never could see any real big reason to make the switch other than the fact that its free. Didn't feel as... snappy. You get what you pay for.
I will say that has been about 5 years ago. Have they moved away from the command line completely yet?WH

I posted this the day I bought the computer (from craigslist...it had windows 8). It's not all command based anymore. I guess to be more specific it's Ubuntu 14.04 I think? I'm not a PC gamer. I have a PS4 and just casually game."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

My home security cameras run on a Linux box - never any issues or downtime, and I'm amazed how well it runs on such basic hardware that I have in that box.70' Chevelle RagTop

I've gotta admit. I'm actually liking it. I might have to google which apps to download that would otherwise run on something already built in to windows, but after a quick DL from their marketplace, everything works fine. Except DVD's. Apparently DVD's won't run on linux. I thought about getting KMPlayer to see if that would run it but I don't care that much."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson
