i wish there was a way to disable the hangout portion. i stay logged out of it but if you ever touch anything funny it will log itself back in.

if you click share and click the text icon, you have to deal with a 2nd window that wants you to select your hangout account (off) or your sms icon.

My biggest complaint with the factory setup is the ability to only send 2 pictures at a time. Annoys the fuck outta me.

I remember having handcent or something like that a couple years ago. Obviously didn't bother to download it when I switched phones, the stock one is ok, doesn't do group messages well. But I don't group message and I don't care. So I guess I'm better off with the stock s5 text app..

You mean it's worth changing your texting app? I have always been plenty happy with stock.

I've been trying Hangouts for a couple days now, I don't like it. Textra looks promising, giving it a shot. I like(d) Handcent but it was a little clunky to me.

Well I'm sticking with the stock app now since s pen doesn't work with other 3rd party apps. Samsung is turning their phones into Iphones little by little. 😕

GoSMS dropped the option to allow other apps to receive the SMS message broadcast, which means the app I wrote to receive or not receive success/failure messages from the office no longer gets them. I'm going to give Textra a shot.

I like Textra so far. It does everything I need it to do.

I have been using 8SMS for about a year now. Very close to the CyanogenMod AOSP Messaging app, but with a few more features.

The only other sms app that I could find where you could quick reply from the notification pulldown shade. I hate it when a quick reply pop's up on the screen in the middle of whatever I am doing..
