If so, that is new. 90% of my music is from CD's or torrents and I've never had to pay to add any of it to itunes.

If you want to store them in the icloud you'll be paying to use the service. Google does something very similar but it's free, and it's streaming the music vs downloading.

You should do what everyone else is doing, get a spotify, pandora, di.fm or other streaming music account. No hassle, no storage, no annoying skipping through songs. They have pretty good algorithms that pick songs you'll like. Its different for me because I don't spend anytime in the car anymore because i live 5 blocks from work and use Uber everywhere, so I can't really comment on people that have long commutes to work, but when I had to drive, i just turned on di.fm and that was that.

If she's imported it from CD's and you don't want to use iTunes, you can use Google Play!

What's this having to pay for iTunes Match for stuff added from CD's? I never had to do that.

Im just totally confused. Which makes me want to learn this shit just so I can say I know it...

I have itunes sitting here, I have music that was NOT purchased from itunes.... how to i get it on my phone?

              1) Do I drag it into itunes and sync?
              2) Doesn't that store it ON my phone?
              3) If I just drag it into itunes, and DON'T sync, will it show up in the Music app on the phone? (in the cloud)
              4) If #3 is not correct, how do I add my music to the "cloud" so that I don't have to use up all of my storage keeping it stored on my phone?
