Anyone play minecraft?

My 10 year old stepson is the same way...

It seems to be some form of a child mind-control device because once he starts playing it things like food and water are no longer necessary for existence as his brain is physically attached to the rudimentary graphics on the screen.

I physically have to remove him from the Minecraft device (Tablet\PS3\PC) in order for his higher brain functions to start working again.

I hate that fucking game....

LMAO! well put sir! J has all of my Lego's from childhood plus his but prefers this. Odd thing is, his doc says it is good for him. That statement alone made me denounce everything he has told me from that point forward. Just one of the many reasons I want to move to the sticks, I will just do what my parents did and kick my ass outdoors when I woke up and let him back in at dusk. Its a pipe dream but I am hopeful lol.

Leah's 9 year old daughter plays it like crazy on the iPad. And watches a lot of the youtube videos people make as well. Our older boys play it occasionally, but used to play it a lot more when it first came out.

All three of our kids watch way more YouTube than actual TV nowadays. In addition to the Minecraft stuff she watches a lot of homemade "Littlest Pet shop" videos that other kids make (using the toys as the characters).

Leah's boy used to get all excited about new videos guys would put out of Call of Duty and the like. I never understood why you would want to watch someone else play a video game that you have. lol

Jeff hit me up on steam, I run a minecraft server for my nieces and her friends. I was thinking about moving over to their realm deal so I can stop having to maintain it.

For mods there are a ton, I usually go here for anything or just find it on some forum somewhere. Obviously check out the minecraft reddit (reddit.com/r/minecraft)

Yeah, I always wondered what that was all about. My nephews do nothing but watch youtube vids of people commentating while playing video games.

I don't remember ever getting obsessed with shit like this when I was a kid. I also didn't have the internet either so who knows.

Fuck that game and everything about it. My son was crazy about the game when it first came out. I sat down and played it with him. There's no purpose to it, I started tearing his buildings apart. He got angry and threw a bitch fit. I always did that anytime we'd get online. He stopped playing it 3 months after his mom bought it for him. I told him it was a waste of money and that he'd be bored within 3 months.

And to hell with those youtube vids showing other peoples game play. My son and his friends are starting their own channel doing the same exact thing. I looked at him and told him "enjoy being a virgin the rest of your life".

I know i spent hours playing mario brothers and other games growing up. Make him do work and earn a wage for the games he wants.

My question is how do you go about getting mods and skins.

Not sure about skins but the mods are fairly easy. I've got the FTB (feed the beast) which is one the most well known mods out there and it was simple.

Install MC
Download FTB mod
Run FTBmod exe file and it installs itself.

I play it every now and then, the game is very fun but I just don't get enough time to build and mine like I used to. I do run a couple of mods which make the game a little more fun than it already is.
