  • need TV help... no picture.

I'm fucking pissed. I'll start off with that. First time to hook her up since the move. It's a Samsung LCD 44inch. Sound only. At first it worked after I hooked up my fios hdtv. Come back 15 min later and only sound.

Isn't there a known issue with Samsung TVs regarding power supply or something? Maybe capacitors?

Seems like I have heard that they may still warranty it even if the standard warranty has expired. Do some googling!

I think the cap stuff was on the plasmas, I have one but never contacted them about it.

Tanner as a last resort unplug power from the TV and hold the power button down for a couple seconds. Its worth a shot. Also did you lay it flat or keep it upright when you moved it? I've heard moving these bigger TVs laid flat is bad juju.

Try another source like a blu ray or dvd player.

              Thanks

If you press the menu button do you get the display?

FTR, the Samsung cap issue is for the power supply and the symptom is the unit not coming on or taking a few tries to come on.

Ok. It doesn't work with any source activated or even with every source unplugged. I did goto the setting when the screen did come on (would do this randomly) and went to brightness where u can select "dynamic" "normal" (energy star. Currently selected) and I think "natural". I switched to dynamic and let it play Man Vs Food while I continued unpacking. For over an hour it stayed on. Never shut off. So I'm hoping there is something wrong with the energy star setting.
