Download a movie to an iphone?

I have an iphone 4s and I have a plane ride on Fri. Id like to watch a movie on it but I dont want to pay for it off of itunes if I dont have to. Any apps or anyway around it?

You can rip your owned DVD's with a variety of software and convert the file to "fit" your iPhone and import it into iTunes. Than you can sync the movie to your phone. PITA though.

planes wifi doesnt allow streaming and AA charges to use their wifi.

There is no easy and legal way. Welcome to apple! If you have Dish Network with the dishanywhere app you could convert shows from your dvr to watch on an iphone. I don't know about Direct TV or any of the other providers though.

There is a free program called Freemake video downloader. You can download Youtube videos in several different formats, one of them being Apple .mp4. Put some vids on your phone before the plane ride.

if you have any recent legal dvds, ultraviolet download codes can be used in the flixster app. you and stream or download for offline use.

otherwise you will need to convert your own and use a video app like VLC (though i'm not sure if that's streaming only)

Or if the DVD has a Digital Copy you can import that into iTunes and sync it to the phone as well.

either way i think the process is no different than syncing music. i just dont know what app you use.

all you should have to do is drag your video files to your itunes library, connect your phone, make sure you select the video files and sync.

You'll need to rip to .mp4 format and sync the video to your iPhone. That's the only video file type iOS recognizes if I remember correctly. You'll probably want to find an "iphone video converter" to get the right aspect ratio/resolution.

I'll second the Freemake recommendation. It's about the easiest point and click video converter I've found.
