We keep two dedicated laptops just for browsing the web. Lately they fail to start and blue screen (keep in mind that were top of the line when I bought then 4 years ago.
So now my question. Should I replace them both while doing so as cheaply as possible? These are not our primary devices but we use them several times a week. Any and all constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Are they strictly Web use? If so, look into a Chromebook.

Because it's zero maintenance solution for Web access. No AV, no deleting temp files, defragging, etc....

If all you do is browse from them, and the errors are not hardware related, then download the newest version of Ubuntu (Linux) and then install Chrome for the browser. Gets rid of any MS related issues and gives a nice solid platform to browse from.
