Not looking to charge the phone in 5 min, just something that if im out in the boonies and need to keep a charge on my phone i can hook it up and let it get a few % of battery life in it.

No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

Just get one of those pocket chargers and use it. They work really well and they're pretty cheap. They usually have cheap good ones on nomorerack.com

Are you not capable of charging it and taking it with you? That seems like a pretty low amount of responsibility.

If you're only looking for a just in case scenario, get a charger that accepts AA batteries. I have one and it works for when I need it.

This is the one I have. Just clip it to your backpack during the hike or lay it out in camp. Has 2 usb ports and weighs about 14oz. Folds up to about the size of a tablet and has a pocket to put cords in.

I use it with some eneloop aa batteries to power my flashlights and headlamps as well.
