Ok mine was sitting on my porch when I got home from work, first off I setup Speedtest on my nexus one and manually set the ft worth server and found a common place and ran some speed test's to compare. Then I called ATT and went through all the hoopla of making sure I was keeping my unlimited plan and activated my new sim card in my Atrix. Did all the initial setup on the Atrix and loaded speedtest and ran some speed tests. Here is what I found....
Nexus One on 3g
0.17/1.17
0.18/0.75
0.22/1.17
Atrix on 4G
3.09/0.14
2.81/0.13
2.15/0.17
Nexus is unlocked but not rooted and is on 2.2.1, Atrix is box stock on 2.2.1
So 4G is pretty damn quick and usually speedtests are pretty damn slow here at the house, I cant wait to see what it does at work. By comparison my N1 will usually pull on average 2mb down and 1.5 up all day long at work in Dallas. There is talk that ATT has HSUPA disabled on all phones except the iphones so upload speeds are essentially capped. Makes sense considering my N1 was on my old iphone data plan.
Quadrant scored 2590 also.
Ok so onto the phone, first off the fingerprint scanner is SLICK! Only thing about it is I wish I didnt have to push the scanner in (it doubles as a pressable power button) to wake the phone up. I wish I could just wake it up by scanning my finger but still awsome for people who like some security but dont want to mess with passwords. There is a redudant numerical password setup at the same time as the fingerprint scan just in case though.
The phone is FAST. I plugged the mini HDMI and hooked it up to my living room tv and the multimedia worked awsome. I tried messing with DLNA and the PS3 and had problems, Ill mess with it more later. Im real bummed to find out I cant access the linux webtop app and firefox browser without the $500 laptop or $130 multimedia dock though.
The display looks pretty good, its bright. I would still say my wifes iphone 4 has a nicer display but no biggie. I wish it had a 4.3" screen but owell.
I heard Nvidia will offer games and stuff for Tegra phones but havent looked into it yet.
So the phone is pretty badass but Im sure there is alot of other stuff I havent figured out yet. One touch root is already out but I havent done it yet and wont till I have a reason, like needing tethering. All the ATT crap comes right off without root which is nice though.
**EDIT** Forgot to add, I HATED the keyboard on my Nexus and recently got swype when the beta became avaialble again. I was just getting used to it and got this phone. It has swype built in as a option but I havent even used it yet because the stock keyboard is so nice, its accurate and easy to use like the iphone one is. I may try swype again later on though.
