Oh I completely understand the terms behind it, but once you select more than 2gb of data with at&t, you plan already costs more than the previous unlimited plans.
Then if you do go over 2gb, you're just paying more.
How are the new plans better for an individual consumer?

They're not, they're just making it more confusing for the customer. I talked to an att rep the other day and even she couldn't actually tell me how everything worked on the new plan. She just threw out numbers and hoped I couldn't add in my head to see that the new plans end up being more money in the long run.
Doesn't vzw throttle based on tower congestion+your total bandwidth consumption? Ie:If you're in an area with low subscriber saturation and use a lot of bandwidth, you'll not be throttled, but when you move into a high saturation area, they will throttle you until you're back in a low sat area?

GASP! Are you saying that throttling has less to do with "protecting the network quality" and more to do with Choo$$$Choo$$$?
Although, for low consumption users(2gb or less w/multiple lines) who did have the grandfathered "unlimited" plans, the bucket scheme may be monetarily beneficial.
4 lines "unlimited" X $35= $140 before the gubment gets their cut.

I just don't get why people hate on T-Mobile when they're the only ones with plans that aren't complete bs. Coverage might suck in bfe, but I've never had any issues with them other than that.

I guess that's the rub. It's easily been 10 years since I've been on a single plan. I do know that my bill went from $171/month to $142/month with two phones and we share 10gb now. We had 3gb each prior to switching.

I was going to switch to T-Mobile but they went up on their unlimited plan to 80
