  • Xbox not reading games?

My Xbox isn't reading any of my games or movies. Time to get a new one or an easy fix?

I priced out a fix on 360. Wasn't worth it a year ago. 360's are $100 now so id either buy another or upgrade.

Unplug the power block from the wall and xbox for about 5 or 10 minutes.

Just says that there is no disc in the console. I did buy this around 09. Just don't wanna cough up the cash for a brand new one when I only play 1 game and niece uses it for her kid movies.. Where can I find one for a decent price? F best buy!

Did you try the unplug thing?

Other than that just go and get a xbox arcade. It's a no frill version and the cheapest. Then swap your hard drive into it and call it a day. Go to gamestop and get a refurbished one. They give you a warranty on it.

360s are so cheap now. Easy to fix also

I've had this happen to me on 360's twice. It's usually just gunk built up on the spindle, the worm gear that moves the tray and/or read head, or a dirty laser eye. Both times I just ran it in "convertable mode" after cleaning the dvd drive. And by that I mean, just the motherboard and the bottom half of the disc drive are intact. No plastic case. Makes it easy to clean and it's cool to look at. Downside is it's a little louder.

Oh, if you run the disc drive "open", you have to remove the magnet hat from the top half of the drive cover. Then manually remove and replace it as you switch discs.

If you do get it going I'd trade it to gamestop for a "newer model". Better safe then sorry it may crap out again

They wont ask questions if you say you want the new technology

they screw enough people every day so dont feel bad

Is there some secret place for a wireless adapter for an older model 360? That shit is too expensive.

I'm not sure I know what you are asking, but there is a WiFi adapter for first Gen 360's
