4k monitors

anyone at 4k yet? if so which model did you go with? how are you dealing with 30hz @ 4k or does your display support 60hz @ 4k ?

A samsung 4k tvconnected to my htpc. and for my desktop I got a deal on a seiki so I went that route, seiki 4k (39) and a 1600p 30 inch dell. Both seem to be limited to 30hz @ 4k over hdmi (current standard) man it sucks imo.

Going dvi doesn't help? My 144hz screens don't accept 120hz through HDMI but does through dvi. Just a thought.

Just got Dual Link DVI or Display Port. There is some limited support in HDMI 1.4x, but the HDMI port is the limiting factor.

I'm not aware of any tv's / monitors that are 4k with dvi.

The Seiki and my Samsung don't have dvi, i'm not to worried about the hz on the samsung since its used as a tv. But the seiki is limited to 30hz @ 4k and only accepts 4k via hdmi.

Enjoy that flicker. IMO, 4k is going to be very slow to take off on the consumer end.

1080p content looks fine, playing a high bitrate movie via plex upscaled to 4k looks fine.

gaming/watching sports is not fine.
