So I replaced me my moms old computer because it was getting to slow, even for her. It's an old Dell Dimension E310 with a 2.8 GHz P4 and I've upgraded the RAM to 3 GB of RAM. Anyway I'm thinking about turning it into a NAS so I can keep my stuff secure and was looking into FreeNAS but it's recommending a 64 bit processor. I thought for sure it would be supported and would just need to buy some larger HD's and be done with it. Thoughts?

So any idea if this will support FreeNAS or anything similar in it's current configuration?

q6600s or xeon 3220s will give those dells a new lease on life. I picked up a xeon 3220 (q6600) copy for $15 off craigslist that will be going in a family members e520
free nas will depend on the file system. I think to run zfs does have a fair bit of overhead.2013 F150 STX Supercab 5.0L w/3.55 LSD
