  • How to link folders on 2 different hard drives?

I got a new hard drive so I can keep my main drive clean. For gaming and OS. I want to store all my pics and music and documents on the new drive. And not have them be on the main drive. So how can I link those "My documents" and stuff to some folders that i make on the new hard drive? I am using windows 7.

I watched a few youtube videos but i Don't even know what this is called. Didnt help. Maybe somebody here can help.

If I'm understanding you correctly, sounds like you just need to create a folder on the new drive. Then right click on Documents, select Properties, and add/set the new folder as the new save location.

FYI though, you may also need to set the save location in the various applications too.

The Location tab in the Properties dialog of a folder
To redirect a folder to a new location

Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then click your user name.
Right-click the folder that you want to redirect, and then click Properties.

Click the Location tab, and then click Move.

Browse to the location where you want to redirect this folder. You can select another location on this computer, another drive attached to this computer, or another computer on the network. To find a network location, type two backslashes (\\) into the address bar followed by the name of the location where you want to redirect the folder (for example, \\mylaptop), and then press Enter.

Click the folder where you want to store the files, click Select Folder, and then click OK.

In the dialog that appears, click Yes to move all the files to the new location.
