No external SD, but you can use an OTG cable to mount an external usb device. I don't have the Qi charger so can't speak to that, but stnd charger is typical on time to full. Root takes less than 3mins.
Damn, that may be a deal breaker for me (and one of the reasons why I no longer care for the iPhone). I've been thinking about getting an OTG cable for my Nexus 7 for this very reason. It's something I will have to think about anyway.
