Potential Nexus 5

Been on battery since 5am, very heavy usage, streaming TuneIn since 7am, auto brightness and poor signal area... 17%@11:55am

I won't complain, I'd have completely killed my OG Note in 1hr using it like I have this Nexus 5.

Mine is doing better than my nexus 4. My iphone did better, but it's really restrictive on data usage, smaller screen, slower processor, etc.

So how are you guys liking the Nexus 5 so far? I need a new phone and haven't decided on a used Galaxy S3/4 or spending the extra cash on a brand new Nexus 5.

Mind you, this was on WiFi the vast majority of the time, but it's pretty typical for my usage. If I'm away from home and on mobile, it's more like 3.5hra screen time and 10ish hrs between charging.

Everything I've read says you're going to get about a days battery life with moderate usage and the can drop to 6-8 hours on heavy usage.

My girlfriend just picked up the MotoX and she gets nearly 3 days on moderate usage.

Same here, some people are complaining about the speaker or the camera software but I've had 0 issues.

Note 2 is definitely better, but it also has a gigantic battery. I've had 6 hours screen time on the nexus on light usage days. Saturday I was out taking pictures with some people all day and was lucky to get 6 hours with heavy use, maybe 3 hours screen time that day.

OK a few more questions. I thought I read somewhere, but can't find it now, that the Nexus 5 does use an external memory card. Did I hear that right? How is the wireless charging working for you guys? How long does it typically take to fully charge it from a fairly dead phone? And how easy is it to root?

No external SD, but you can use an OTG cable to mount an external usb device. I don't have the Qi charger so can't speak to that, but stnd charger is typical on time to full. Root takes less than 3mins.
