See how much you are pulling, while 1200 is definitely enough room for tri 770's. Stock tri sli 770's and a slight oc'd 3770k will pull 900/930 watts at full load.
A quick google search shows that a 8350 is way more power hungry than even i5's. If temps are fine, and the system doesn't hard lock but rather shuts down outright. That to me sounds like a power issue.
For 5ghz 8350's, the avg vcore needed is higher than 1.5v, so I would overshoot if your temps are in line. You just need to monitor and drop vcore until your stable at 4.8. And 4.8 isn't gauranteed your proc might simply be up to it.
I was actually looking for a 1300 or higher. I had a 1200 from some other company that actually caught fire and literally turned a 7200rpm 1TB HD into a sparkler. It was pretty low quality though. I think I paid 150. Using Corsair 1200 now.

I was checking receipts and when I got the memory I paired x4 corsair vengeance for 16 gb of RAM. Seems I paired x2 1.5v 2133mhz with x2 1.3v 1866mhz sticks. Would this cause anything to go wrong?
yeah spd values will just run at the higher of the two. I know with intels, the later third gen/fourth gen i7's use lower voltage ram. dunno if that's the same with amd or if their memory controller favors higher voltage ram.
I do know that once you hit 4.8ghz on these chips most people hit a wall. especially if you are hitting 85c on it, amd throttles at 70c if not mistaken.
If you want to hit that 5ghz magical number, I think imo you need better cooling, more volts, and perhaps a better binned cpu.
I don't have an amd setup so I can't really comment from personal experience.

Besides the possibility of not being able to hit the magic 5Ghz number, he may be running outta power.
Well prime won't be stressing the GPU's so he might not be running out of power during just prime testing, a single 770 will pull 250ish watts at load though. So all three of them plus the overclocked proc should be reaching the limit of the PSU if you can get them near 100% utilization during gaming.
Well I have it stable at 4.5 @ 1.375v.
This is mainly a gaming rig. It looks like intel is better for gaming in every way over AMD. I feel like that processor is bottle necking everything else. Just benchmark CPU scores alone, the I7 doubles the 8350.
I have a few days to take this MB back. Should I exchange it for an i74770 setup and go intel?
I was waiting for this to come up... The AMD FX processors are insanely powerful, the issue of the benchmark scores is the windows kernel(1) and coding of said benchmarking programs(2).
The windows kernel cannot properly support the architecture of AMD BD/PD processors and they're not going to so anything else to improve it beyond its current state. I'm not making this on a hunch or as conjecture, I own one, ran it on 7 and now run it on Mint14 Nadia.
In 7 running f@h,it wouldn't produce more than 8k points per day(ppd). The same exact setup in Mint is producing 27-32k ppd, as well as supporting 6 users remoting in to compile Android firmware while f@h is running.
Meanwhile, my 3770k@4.2ghz is putting out about 18k ppd doing the same work units as the amd rig.
If it does everything you need/want, there's no sense in spending more money for a synthetic test score.
Tl;dr
Intel, while they are good cpu's, they're not what the benchmarks would lead you to believe, especially at the premium they charge.
Save your money and be happy.

I hear ya. I was just thinking that. I was reading even 3 titans in sli wont hold a constant 60 fps. That's all I was really trying to do. I used a titan for about a week and hated it. a 7990, x2 7950s then x2 7970s. The Gtx 770oc's are the best by far. Having the AMD at 4.8 and 5.0 the short time it was stable with the x3 770oc's, Crysis 3 boosted about 12-15 fps avg on full settings and that's pretty big for that game. I'm hoping that in time NiVidia will just perfect their sli drivers.
