Benchmarking

I hated the titan because the performance is not near worth the 1k you gotta dish for it. I was expecting amazing and spectacular, and I was just wanting to buy another. I'd be a buyer at 500 each though. Same for the gtx 690, but I didn't try that one. I by no means am a overclocking pro or know what I'm doing in the P/C world. I just bought abunch of shit and threw it all together and tried to keep it pretty! Anyway as far as benchmarking, my 770s in SLI score higher than SOME titans in x3 SLI and I dont know really how to tweak. Thats $1200 vs $3000 just in cards alone.
I started trying MSI, PNY, Giga, Asus all in crossfire or SLI and got much better performance with two cards than the one titan. ( yes I know the titan has two chips ) I used the frys 30 day exchange and really abused it lol.
I feel dumb for dropping 1200 on 3 cards, but for the price it had the most bang. I would have done x3 or x4 r7950s but I was having hardware issues with crossfire. Half my games wouldn't even boot. Everything boots with the 770s and you can really push them.Last edited by FunFordCobra; 08-29-2013, 05:09 PM.Comment

Titan was more of a Look what I can do, it will never go down in price (look at the cost of the 690, its still up there) and Gigabyte has released their super 780 which is faster than titan right now, albeit with less Vram. Titans ARE fast though, don't know where you can't see that. But like I said unless you tested Titan's at launch than they were full of issues (boost clock issues) but the drivers matured and they are easily the fast single gpu out the box right now. The price is up to the person to decide if its worth it, and once you start hitting the limit of 3GB of vram those Titans' are your only choice for NV-Surround setups (think 3x 30inch 1600p monitors). Once you go past two cards, they don't scale well that well. I really hope you aren't playing at 1080p because you overshoot like a motherfucker imo and the cards will probably never hit 100% load in most gaming situations.
I retract that last statement if you are gaming @ 144hz or something. But even than dual 680's (clocked @ 1200 on the core though) for BF3 gives me a constant 144ish fps @ Ultra. Depending on how close you are to the power ceiling of your PSU, those 770's should definitely reach 780 clocks or higher.
You got a beast of a system for sure, I would have gone Haswell no doubt though (for gaming, fuck benchmarks) And $1200 isn't bad for three 770's consider I paid nearly that for two 680's. Your system may score higher in benchmarks but its all about gaming, what games are you playing btw? Hope you're enjoying it!

Its cool getting to learn something new and yes I'm overshooting right now lol. I'm just playing on an old 42 inch 1080 RCA monitor I had sitting around from 2009. It does better then my new 55 inch vizio though! Consoles have just become so mundane, even with the new systems coming out I wasn't impressed.
I really wanted to do eyefinity, but the bezels would ruin it for me. I'm browzing for a monitor or two right now.
I was thinking maybe 2 of these : [ame]http://www.amazon.com/AOC-29-inch-IPS-Q2963PM-21/dp/B00BOEUQZK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1377833144&sr=8-3&keywords=29+inch+wide+monitor[/ame]
What ms response am I looking for? Any game I have that doesn't have vsync has screen tearing because most times my frames are 130 range. (unless its crysis 3 and its 40-60)
I'm not playing any games religiously right now. I multitask lol. Im doing Mass effect series ( played 1 but not 2 or 3) Crysis series, Duce ex, Witcher 2, Metro series.
Going to be doing a lot BF4 and GTA5 soon!Comment
Crysis 3 can't tax your system that much if my laptop can run it at ultra settings @ 60fps. What drivers are you running btw?
Honestly with a system like yours, I wouldn't run anything less than 1440p. Like a u2711 or newer (u2713).
Those 2560x1080p panels suck and are pretty shitty for gaming if you look at the reviews.
You are going to be holding back the there 770's if you go 1920x1080p, unless you go with like the Asus 27inch 144hz monitor. But I would still go for 1440p or more.
Depending on how much money you want to spend, if you stay at 1080p you MUST look at 120hz or 144hz monitors with your hardware. If you want to spend more, you can always gamble on one of the 120hz 1440p panels that are pretty popular now and days but they don't come from reputable sellers (check ebay/monoprice).
27inch 144hz

The blacks aren't the best on this monitor, and there is definite bleeding on the LED's when you run the lightboost hack to enable 120/144hz. I have the 24 inch version of this as a side monitor and I like it, but can't run it as primary.
27inch 1440p Dell u2713HM

Awesome colors, great screen, still only 60hz though so you'll have tearing if you don't run vsync.
27inch 120hz 1440p

Off brand, using Samsungs PLS (IPS wannabe) screens. You would need to overclock these to get 120hz. So do your research, on which one you are ordering to get the most success out of it.
Multimonitor, get three of these.
Asus 144hz 1080p monitors.

The Bezels aren't as noticeable imo, I've ran multimonitor setups and if you have some balls you can debezel them. If you go multi-monitor, get a good monitor stand for them, preferably one where you can switch from Portrait to Landscape to get the best of both worlds.Last edited by roliath; 08-30-2013, 11:17 AM.

holy shit man!
lol
That's a lot of pixels to drive, might need to post your crysis 3 settings. I would turn off vsync. Yeah its a huge hit to jump to three monitors. You are going from 2million pixels to 6 million pixels to drive.
Where is asus saying you need 1500w?
Let me install Crysis 3 on my sli box and run some numbers @ 1600p (4million pixels). What drivers are you running? Are you using these?
You should be getting more than 25fps on on crysis 3 @ 5760x1080

Idk man this is beating me.. I really think 1500w for x3 770s is some BS.
Let me try those drivers. I tried the CD that came with it but it says no hardware detected...crysis is the only game that will even run. Farcry 3 will just lag load untill I have to reset, which ran prefect before and still does on 1 monitor.
Thanks for helping!Comment

i have farcry 3 but don't have it installed, crysis 3 is downloading now. I was going to test dxtory/xsplit real quick on these new drivers and with splinter cell blacklist. if you install the new nv drivers, do a "clean install" option. I'll be back in a bit, grabbing dinner after I finish testing in xsplit/dxtory/twitch.
don't get frustrated, its hardly ever just gonna work out of the box. might need to tinker with some settings. I agree that 1500w is overkill for tri-sli 770's. i've run tri-sli/tri-fire setups on 1050w just fine.
